The ADR Journal Vol.14 Issue 2 The ADR Journal is a publication by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Kenya that spearheads intellectual discourse on pertinent and germane issues in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and other related fields of knowledge.

Arbitration Rules These rules have been revised to accord with the provisions of the Arbitration Act, No. 4 of 1995 (as amended from time to time) and are primarily applicable to non-administered or noninstitutional arbitration within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Kenya.

CIArb pays courtesy call on the Insurance Regulatory Authority

CIArb Chairman had a productive courtesy call with Kiptum Godfrey the Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Regulatory Authority along with his team. CIArb Chairman was accompanied by members of CIArb Kenya Branch’s Banking & Finance Committee, Aasif karim, Andrew Karue, MBA, MCIArb, iNED, and the Chief Executive Officer, Chebett Koske.

They discussed strategic matters related to claims and dispute resolution in the insurance sector. It was encouraging to share perspectives on leveraging alternative dispute resolution ADR mechanisms to clear the existing backlog, enhance training and capacity building, and engage in joint research at the nexus of our sectors.
