Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) has long been one of the standing pillars of the Ciarb strategy, guiding our governance, programs, and engagement across the arbitration and ADR ecosystem. While optics may not always fully reflect this commitment, our resolve to champion inclusive leadership and equitable participation remains unwavering.

In furtherance of this mission, Ciarb was privileged to host a delegation from Women on Boards Network (WOBN) for strategic discussions aimed at exploring meaningful collaboration and partnership. The engagement underscored a shared commitment to advancing diversity, particularly in leadership, decision-making, and professional practice.
The discussions were led by Ag. CEO, Evelyne Kimani, MCIArb alongside the Education & Programmes Manager, Simon Odhiambo, FCIArb who jointly championed an open and forward-looking conversation on how the two organizations can align their strengths to drive tangible DEI outcomes. Key areas explored included joint capacity-building initiatives, mentorship and leadership development programmes, advocacy for inclusive representation on boards and tribunals, and the promotion of gender-responsive policies within arbitration and dispute resolution spaces.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to reflect on existing challenges within the profession and to identify practical, action-oriented solutions that go beyond policy statements to deliver measurable impact. Both organizations recognized the importance of collaboration in accelerating progress and fostering environments where diverse talent can thrive.
Ciarb remains committed to building strategic partnerships that reinforce its DEI agenda and contribute to a more inclusive, representative, and equitable professional landscape. We look forward to deepening our engagement with Women on Boards Network and translating these conversations into impactful initiatives that advance our shared mission.
