The CIArb Kenya Chairperson, Jacqueline Waihenya – Chartered Arbitrator, FCS, LLM participated in the Africa Breakfast Meeting hosted by Combar – The Commercial Bar Association in the sidelines of the African Arbitration Association conference in Capetown on ”How to Africanise African Arbitration: What needs to be done. The panel was hosted by Julius Nkafu FCIArb, Dr Jamsheed Peeroo and Nania Owusu-Ankomah Sackey, FCIArb of Combar – The Commercial Bar Association.

The meaning of Africanization & African coming to the conclusion that Africa is rich in qualified Arbitrators and there is a perceptible improvement in involvement of Africans in International Arbitration.
What remains to be done now is to champion expansion of the space, leverage on existing frameworks and pursue collaborative strategies to achieve this.
