Today, Supply Chain Management is an integral part in any transaction, it entails the management of the flow of goods and services and includes all processes that transform raw materials into final products. It is the active streamlining of a business’s supply-side activities to maximize customer value and gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Efficient supply management ensures that companies put in place strategies that help them cut excess costs and deliver products to the consumer faster and more efficiently.
To this end Ciarb Kenya at the beginning of the year signed an MOU with Kenya Institute Of Supplies Management (KISM) Official in a bid to enhance efficient disposal of disputes emanating from the Supply Chain Management through ADR.
We renewed these discussions today as the Chairman of Kenya Institute Of Supplies Management (KISM) Official Mr. John Karani MCIPS, MKISM, the Corporate Secretary Serah E. Okumu and Ag CEO Nicholas Wafula paid a courtesy call on the Branch. The Chair Jacqueline Waihenya – Chartered Arbitrator, FCS, LLM was joined by the VC Dr. Wyne Kenneth, Director Hon. Mary Ang’awa, CEO CHEBETT KOSKE and the Business Development & Marketing Manager Evelyne W. Kimani.
By understanding the interlinkages of ADR and the Supply Chain Management, building capacity of Supply chain professionals to dispose off any disputes effectively, the huge amounts held up in the sector’s disputes will be released back to the economy and contracts will come to their successful conclusion opening up the sector to greater possibilities of growth and development while ensuring there is ease of access to justice for all.
